This is such an awesome opportunity for the body of Christ to come together in a time of united worship and prayer!
I Corinthians 12:12
For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.
We are planning on having video interviews of students who are involved with several campus ministries here at Virginia Tech. They will be sharing about their lives and their relationship with Christ. We will also have a multi-ministry worship band (or two) leading the worship for this event (stay tuned for YouTube links to some of the songs we’ll be singing that night).
What’s Your Story?
In the vtONE Spring 2010 Event, we talked about the power of our story. We want to continue that idea for this event. There is an awesome power in taking time to recognize how Christ works through the details of our lives – from the seemingly insignificant ones to the ones that we have no choice but recognize how greatly they have impacted our lives. There is also something great in recognizing the power of sharing our stories. Our testimonies can be a significant encouragement to the body of Christ, they are very instrumental in the fight against the enemy, and they are one of the most awesome ways to share the love of God and the eternal value in a relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ.
10Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.
11″And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their TESTIMONY…” – [NASB]
24 Hour Prayer Event
vtONE is having a 24 Hour time of prayer preceding the vtONE Event:
– It will begin at 3pm in the War Memorial Chapel (Virginia Tech).
– At 9am, it will shift to the Jamestown Room on the second floor of Squires Student Center (Virginia Tech)
– Please email Brad Hopkins ([email protected]) if you’d like to sign up for a time slot or if you’d like more information.
Operation Christmas Child
vtONE is partnering with Operation Christmas Child again. You can find more information about this organization here.
You can also join the vtONE Operation Christmas Child Facebook Group here.
We are going to try to give shoe boxes/supply lists to each of the campus ministries to hand out to everyone who wants to participate and use the vtONE Fall 2010 Worship Event as our primary drop-off location. Also, starting on Wednesday (October 20, 2010) you will be able to pick up supplies at War Memorial Chapel, located on the Drillfield at Virginia Tech (they will be located next to the office in the Chapel).
You have the option of either packing a shoe box and bringing it to the event, or you can bring items on the supply list to the event and our Operation Christmas Child Team (made up of people from several campus ministries) will pack shoe boxes using those supplies.
